Build a sourcing brief suppliers can answer
Turn a broad request into a specific, comparable proposal.

Start with the intended use
Describe what you need the product to do. Include a specification or reference where available and distinguish essential requirements from preferences.
State quantities and timing
Include the expected quantity, packaging needs, delivery destination and desired date. Clearly identify anything that is still an estimate.
Request comparable information
Ask each supplier to describe the offered specification, quotation scope, available documents and items needing clarification.
Keep a record of changes
When a requirement changes, update the brief and ask which parts of the proposal change with it. Review the revised scope before approval.
